Me among sharks and rays in Mo’orea, French Polynesia
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
My favourite game has always been the treasure hunt. I enjoyed it as a child and I loved it even more when I grew up and had to come up with ideas for riddles, clues, coded messages, hiding spots and prizes. Sometimes I spent hours drawing maps or making puzzles, but it never felt like wasted time.
I felt creative, happy, alive. I am not sure who had more fun – me organizing the hunt or the children (or the adults) chasing the treasure.
While setting up this blog I was looking for a common denominator of all my passions and interests. It seemed like an impossible task. I have extremely itchy feet, but I also like spending hours talking with my best friend in front of the fire. I really enjoy teaching children about the wonderful world we live in, but I also love being on a little sailing boat in the middle of the ocean. When I am underwater, I really feel at home. I should have been a mermaid, for sure. But then I climb a mountain or go snowboarding and that feels like home too.
So, this is not a blog about sailing in French Polynesia, diving in Fiji, exploring Mexico or praising Italy. This blog is an overview of my never-ending quest of hunting treasures. Sometimes the hidden treasure is a new friendship, a stunning view or an unforgettable experience. But like always in this game, the real fun lies in the hunt itself.
